Announced: Krister Linder Live at The Cutting Room

The Cutting Room Presents: Krister Linder Wed, June 12, 2013  10:00 pm $15 Advanced – $20 Day of Show.

After a handful award winning movie soundtracks, music assignments for the United Nations, opening for Beyonce and having his music featured by high end fashion giants like Agent Provocateur, Fendi, and H&M, Swedish producer/artist Krister Linder might just be one of the best kept secrets in New York.

Born in Kongo and raised in Sweden, Linder’s journey and sound is far from the ordinary. Earning his first gold record at the age of 17, he has since been a prominent figure on the Swedish music scene.

Though foremost a vocalist, Linder’s dreamy, electronic productions have also helped lift art house films like Metropia, Downloading Nancy, Madonna’s W/E and more. His song “Captain Nemo” has been covered by acclaimed british singer Sarah Brightman, and remains one of her most successful releases to date.

In 2009 Linder moved his base from Stockholm to Manhattan, but soon realized he wasn’t going to bring his Swedish career with him.

“I saw that if I truly wished to honor the spirit and deity of New York, I simply couldn’t bring my music from elsewhere and try imposing it on her. She (NY) showed me I was to come empty handed, be inspired and create something from scratch here, and then offer this up as my token of love to her city.”

On World Humanitarian Day 2012 Linder opened for Beyonce in the General Assembly Hall at the United Nations headquarters in Manhattan.

This June 12 Linder offers his first own New York performance at The Cutting Room. He promises a warm, deep blend of electronic, cinematic soundscapes, and songs from both his past and present repertoire.

Expect the stuff of which dreams are made.
