MINNEAPOLIS––DECEMBER 14TH, 2013––The Abstracted Gallery is excited to announce their One Year Anniversary and 2nd Annual Holiday Exhibit ‘Farbtrennung,’ where their three main rooms will be divided into the three primary colors (red, blue, or yellow). Each room will contain works of art in hues of only the rooms assigned color. This exhibit will surely be a “theme” that pushes veteran artists to their limits.
The Abstracted Gallery is nestled in the middle of the exciting artistic haven of NE Minneapolis at 1618 Central Ave NE, Suite 110 in the Thorpe Building located right next door to Diamonds Coffee and will take place from the hours of 5 PM to Midnight. Free refreshments will be provided.
CONCEPTUAL GUIDELINES OF THE EXHIBIT:
Each room will be representing one of the three primary colors in the full spectrum of visible color. Every piece of art in the gallery will be an experiment into monochromic tones. Monochrome: meaning “paintings, drawings, and designs in one color or shades of one color,” challenging the artists to step outside their realm of comfort and into the world of color separation.
HOW THE IDEA CAME ABOUT:
For this show, the creative minds within the Abstracted decided to sit down local MN Local Artists: Boxy Mouse, BIAFRA INC, Eleventh Wundr, and Jesse Golfis to brainstorm ideas for a theme. After much deliberation “Farbtrennung” was born. A show completely created and curated for local Artists.

Nf. color separation, process of preparing an original piece of art or other color picture for printing by creating a separate image for each color plane
Monochrome–describes paintings, drawings, design, or photographs in one color or shades of one color. A monochromatic object or image has colors in shades of limited colors or hues. Images using only shades of grey (with or without black and/or white) are called grayscale or black-and-white. However, scientifically speaking, monochromatic light refers to visible light of a narrow band of wavelengths
