Spring will come and art will grow on the roof of 407 Johnson Avenue, known as The 407 Bushwick. Join Aphotic for an afternoon rooftop open air party where live art along with live music will welcome in the first rooftop party of the season.
From 12-8PM Saturday April 12th, local DJs will be spinning house, tech house, and minimal techno in collaboration with New York based artists as they create an outdoor gallery of murals on this special rooftop in Bushwick. New murals began last June and continued until September 2013 by contributing artists Raquel Echanique, Joseph Meloy, Rafael Pisarczyk, R.Henderson, The Cupcake Guy and Fumero.
The rooftop also has a retro wildstyle graffiti piece by Revenge and a Kuma cameo. Art will continue weaving it’s way on to the neighbouring rooftop for the spring revival 2014. The artist featured for this afternoon event are: NS/CB, Iena Cruz, ELLE, AOM, The Cupcake Guy, CAM, Whisbe, Gumshoe, Sinxero, and Fumero, who is the curator and inspiration of the art at the 407.
The event will last throughout the afternoon into the early evening and will be free and open to the public up until 8pm when the party will drift into the darker recesses of the warehouse- link to the night event can be found HERE!
Attendance at the day party will give attendees discount admission to the night event that will be showcasing some slamming local DJs, plenty of dancing, and a birthday party celebration.
Music will provided by the legendary Onda Skillet who will be throwing down a 6 hour set to inspire the artist all afternoon. Followed by other New York based DJS.
There will also be a keg available to those old enough to drink, but feel free to bring your own beer or booze as well. It’s a studio for the community!
