Galerie Sylvie Le Page presents a solo exhibition by painter Alberto Reguera “Chromatic Echappées“.
In his approach Alberto Reguera questions the use of traditional painting media. Influenced by the French lyrical abstraction, he first creates abstract landscapes on canvas. The limits of its landscapes are quickly shattered by a desire to expand, it expresses beyond the borders of the canvas.
Thick materials that stretch, spread and separate from the wall to become “painting–object”. Some works, laid on the ground, maintain a privileged and unique relationship with the viewer. The audience creates its own field of vision and its relation to the work.
The work of Alberto Reguera follows a logical progression.Three-dimensional abstract works built from layering paint layers and materials expanded. After taking full possession of their support, the colors now want to extract. The artist built around the space also becomes a true medium. With overlays, the colors become material. When the colors escape from their surroundings, traveling between each work as we discover a landscape.
“There is therefore no border between painting, sculpture and installations.” Alberto Reguera.
Exhibition to run January 30 through March 3, 2015.
