THE BLACK ARTS, VOL. I is a group exhibition mired in the color black and extenuating conceptual iterations. Black is the letter X of the color palette: the infinite variable and the unknown, all things and nothing, everything and emptiness, tumescent and expectant. Blackness becomes a positive reversal, a time for rest and rejuvenation, an autonomous zone for inspired bacchanal and visionary hallucinations, a cloak for rebellion and revolution. Blackening hacks the system with an infinite aesthetic spectrum creating a neural-galactic super-semio-conducted petri dish, an environment for the subversion of cliché symbology, the redefinition of lexigraphic polars, mutating culturally standardized iconographic meanings, flipping the establishment to expose and raise the underground, a dark ashy mist wafting up from a boiling cauldron of coded brew. Unlike a status-quo white-cube gallery experience, the Outlaw Arts space will be enshrouded in total ceremonial blackness. Black curtains, black wallpaper, black floor mats, a total black out, lit only by a yellowish-orange candle-like glow from an assortment of bare-bulb double-helix vintage filaments. This pulsating laboratory altar is a crucible for Black Matter concoctions, aesthetic mutations, and twisted transmissions on a renegade broadcast channel. No god, no satan, no system, no master; No dark, no light, no black, no white.
