Announced: ‘HEAD OVER HEELS’ by Hudson Marquez @ PSKAUFMAN Gallery Los Angeles. Show to open December 12.

“Stiletto. Mule. Slingback. Pump. Straps. New paintings inspired by the ladies of Bourbon Street. The Sho-Bar. The Gunga Den. The 500 Club. Lou’s Lounge. I saw all the big name Burlesque Queens. Blaze Star. Candy Barr. Lili St. Cyr. Tempest Storm. The Cat Girl. What did I see Sitting at the bar below them as they peeled to the beat of the best Rhythm and Blues bands in the world? HIGH HEELS! Imprinted me. Often, I wondered about their pasts. Now I have painted the women from the dark shadows of the French Quarter and written stories for each. Welcome to HEAD OVER HEELS”

Nunez sistersIMG_456004201Known for his involvement in Ant Farm, and the creation of Cadillac Ranch, Hudson has played an important role in the development of contemporary American art.
